Sondra Ruth Kalish

Sondra Ruth Kalish, 90, died peacefully at home on September 10, 2026, after battling heart failure for many years. Sondra was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 28, 1936, to Frieda and Myer Sherak. Sondra had a fighting spirit and overcame many obstacles during her long life. She was preceded in death by her parents and her younger brother, Tommy Sherak, as well as her first husband, Paul Goldberg (m. 1955-1961), second husband, Jack Kalish (m. 1965-2007) and daughter-in-law Cecillia Kalish. 

Sondra frequently reminisced about her many happy memories of raising her children. When her own children were grown, Sondra entered the workforce and was very proud of the thirty years she spent working in childcare as a teacher and later as an assistant director. 

Sondra is survived by her children Jodi Charak (Conrad), Teri Levy (Jeff), Paul Kalish, Scott Kalish (Alison), stepsons, Ron Kalish (MaryAnn) and Mitchell Kalish (Monica), sister-in-law, Madeleine Sherak, many loving nieces, nephews and cousins, 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. 

A graveside service and burial will take place on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 11a.m. at New Montefiore Cemetery, 1180 Wellwood Avenue, West Babylon, NY. Royersford family will be sitting shiva (receiving visitors) on Tuesday from 2:00 to 9:00 PM and Wednesday from 4:00 to 9:00 PM at 8 Long Meadow Road, Royersford PA 19468. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tom Sherak MS Hope Foundation.
