It is with great sadness that the family of Martin “Marty” Spector announces his sudden passing on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at the age of 69.
Marty was born December 16th, 1954 in Brooklyn, New York. He completed his formative education at Sachem High School in 1972. Marty went on professionally to work for the New York Times delivery Department for 25 years. He proudly served as a Union Representative while at the New York Times. Effectively representing the men and women of the New York Times and resolving labor conflicts as they arise.
Marty greatly enjoyed living in Long Beach, close to the ocean. Equally important was Marty’s strong passion for the music of the 60s and 70s and the Wonderful New York Yankees. But these passions pale compared to his love for his family. Marty will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his partner, Lisa Di Pietro, and her family; His child, Jenine (Milo); his grandchildren, Jake ,Jonathan and Jared; siblings, Alan (Veronica) Spector and Mitchell (Patricia) Spector; nephews Zack Spector, Aaron Spector, and Michael (Ashley) Spector; nieces Rachel (Jeremy) Polley and Shaina (Chris) Schnabel and a host of other family members and friends, all of whom he touched with his love and kindness. Marty was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Norma.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., at Kleinberg Funeral Services, 3930 Long Beach Road, Island Park, New York 11558.
